New Finds, Big Crushes: The Bag Brands I’m Loving Right Now

Lately, I’ve found myself drawn to brands that don’t shout. No loud logos. No trend-chasing. Just thoughtful design, slow craftsmanship, and stories that stick with you long after you’ve closed the tab. The kind of pieces that feel like they were made with you in mind, not just for you to buy.

From (mostly) sculptural handbags to custom-fitted boots, these are the names that stopped me mid-scroll this month.

And yes, despite everything I wrote about Labubu and the thrill of chaotic collectibles, I did briefly consider clipping one to a Polène bag. Contradictory? Maybe. But that’s fashion. And that’s me.

mlouye

In a world oversaturated with sameness, Mlouye [me¡loy] is a masterclass in deliberate disruption. Founded by industrial designer Meb Rure, the Istanbul-born brand brings the principles of Bauhaus into the palm of your hand – where form, function, and feeling converge.

Rure’s background in design is palpable: think unexpected silhouettes, sculptural lines, and a reverence for simplicity that feels anything but minimal. With every piece, Mlouye reimagines the handbag not just as a fashion object, but as a piece of thoughtful architecture. Wearable, usable, and quietly radical.

It’s luxury stripped of ego, rich in intention, and wrapped in soft, intelligent leather.

BY BANOO

There is a quiet revolution happening in the world of workwear and it’s stitched in Italian leather. BY BANOO, the Stockholm-born brand founded by two sisters with Iranian roots, is redefining the modern work bag with a precision that feels more Silicon Valley than runway. And yet, it’s unmistakably chic.

Each release is an “edition,” not a season, improved through real feedback and engineered to meet the demands of women who carry more than just their laptops. These are bags that understand the rhythm of a woman’s day: from client meetings to carry-on compartments, boardrooms to late-night brainstorms. Handcrafted in northern Portugal, each piece is built with purpose and built to last.

Because BY BANOO is not simply about accessories. It is about access. About structure, in every sense of the word. And about time.

TOTEME

If quiet confidence had a wardrobe, it would be dressed in TOTEME. The Stockholm-based fashion house, founded by Elin Kling and Karl Lindman, doesn’t chase trends. It curates permanence. With a meticulous focus on materiality, silhouette, and seasonless relevance, TOTEME is less about “what’s new” and more about “what endures.”

From the crisp tailoring of a trench coat to the ease of a silk tank that somehow manages to feel both structured and soft, its collections are sculpted for the woman who moves through life with intention.

DeMellier

In a market saturated with statement bags shouting for attention, DeMellier speaks in a quieter, more meaningful tone. One stitched with conscience and clarity.

Founded by Mireia Llusia-Lindh, a Harvard-educated strategist with a passion for purpose, the London-based label balances modern design with meticulous ethics. Each handbag is crafted in Europe from sustainably sourced materials, embodying a commitment not just to style, but to substance.

That’s not all. The heart of the brand beats far beyond fashion: for every bag sold, DeMellier funds lifesaving vaccines and treatments for children in need, turning each purchase into an act of global solidarity. This is handbag design as it should be. Intelligent, intentional, and with grace.

Polène

Polène is where Parisian restraint meets artisanal reverence. A French maison that has quietly mastered the art of sculptural minimalism.

Founded by three siblings in 2016, the brand takes a studied approach to design, creating leather goods that whisper elegance rather than shout status. Informed by architectural folds, organic curves, and a devotion to high craftsmanship, each piece is a lesson in balance: soft yet structured, delicate yet grounded.

The bags are designed in Paris, but brought to life by the master artisans of Ubrique, Spain – a town steeped in the tradition of fine leatherwork. With materials sourced from certified Italian and Spanish tanneries, Polène’s creations are more than accessories; they are wearable poetry. Subtle, slow, and sculpted to stay.

Fillies and Boots

While the rest of this list might revolve around bags, Fillies and Boots walked its way into my heart, quite literally. Born from one woman’s frustration with the fashion industry’s “one-size-fits-all” approach, the brand offers a rare promise: made-to-order boots tailored precisely to your calf measurements.

No overproduction, no excess inventory, just high-quality, Italian-crafted leather made with intention and integrity. Every pair is the result of tradition meeting innovation, artisanal skill meeting modern need. It’s not just about the perfect fit, though you’ll absolutely get that, it’s about reclaiming the boot as a form of self-expression, precision, and pride.

In a world of fast fashion, this is slow, personal luxury that lasts.
